Ancient Nuad Bo Rarn Therapy : Science meeting the Soul

“Striking equilibrium between physical and mental energy”

The Ancient treatment is known as the Thai Therapeutic Massage, a unique tradition of therapy, which is performed on a mat. You stay fully clothed, light clothing is preferred. The Thai word Nuad, is translated to massage, stemming from the Greek word meson, meaning “to knead”. Nuad Bo Rarn Therapy is much more than kneading of the muscles. The treatment is a soft tissue manipulation. The practitioner effectively uses his body weight rather than muscular force to transmit pressure, force, and energy. This creates a highly therapeutic experience. The bodywork is primarily of pressure on energy lines and points.  A large variety of stretching movements that are combined in to a comprehensive strategy. The therapist works under a meditative and concentrated state of mind, following the movements of Slowly, Deeply and Gently (SGD) technique.

The stretching movements in Nuad Bo-Rarn therapy affect the entire body by increasing:

Flexibility

Releasing both deep and superficial tension

Helping the body’s natural energy to flow more easily

Advanced Therapeutic Yoga : Lazy Man’s Yoga

Health is the thing that makes you feel that now is the best time of the year. Franklin Adams (1881 – 1960) American columnist

The origin of Therapeutic Yoga has its roots in the ancient medicine of Ayurveda. You only participate in a passive role and known as “Lazy Man’s Yoga”. The therapy involves physical manipulating, adjusting, stimulating and correcting your body. The practitioner mainly uses his hands. The therapy is based on the theory of Energy, where the Sen- that is the energy lines follow the form of the body. Thai tradition recognizes 72,000 Sen in theory, but in practice 10 Sen serves as the foundation. Pressure is exerted on the lines and points with the usage of palms of the hand, the thumbs, and the feet and elbows are used as well.

This manipulative technique can be further categorized under “peripheral stimulation”. The stimulus is applied externally to experience internal effects. Advanced Therapeutic Yoga Therapy, goes much deeper than the top layer of muscle tissue. The science goes effects the mechanical functions of the body, working with deep muscle and joint tension, mobility and nerve and finally, muscle and ligament balancing.

Prenatal Massage Therapy

Pregnancy is a time when a woman’s focus on her body is very critical. The structure of her body changes. Though her body adapts itself to its increasing change of the baby growing within, these changes in her body are accompanied by discomfort, strain and swelling.

The Prenatal massage is a wonderful feather touch therapy specially designed to prepare the woman for childbirth. Relaxing and helping her to feel better. The therapy will relieve tension and fatigue during pregnancy. It will also soothe and reassure her in labour.

The many benefits of Prenatal Massage::

Reduction of swelling: Massage helps to stimulate soft tissues to reduce collection of fluids in swollen joints.

Improves the removal of tissue waste carried by the body’s lymph system.

Stimulating glandular secretions thereby stabilizing hormone levels.

Improvement of nerve pain: Sciatica nerve pain is experienced by many women in late pregnancy as the uterus rests on muscles of the pelvic floor and lower back. The pressure of the uterus spreads tension to the muscles of the upper and lower leg, causing them to swell and put pressure on nearby nerves. Pregnancy massage helps to release the tension on nearby muscles, resulting in a significant reduction in sciatica nerve pain during pregnancy through massage

Other potential benefits of prenatal massage :

Reduced joint pain: by reducing cramping, tightening, stiffness, tension and muscle knots.

Improved circulation: greater vitality and less fatigue for the mother-to-be and better nourishment for the baby.

Reduced muscle tension and headaches.

Reduced stress and tension.

Improved oxygenation of soft tissues and muscles. Better sleep.

When can the pregnancy massage be taken?

The frequency of massage can be of once a week in the 2nd trimester.
During the 3rd trimester, it can be given twice a week
